My brother keeps asking me what I want to be when I grow up. I've been thinking about that question a lot and I keep coming up with the same answer. I don't know. I know I want to be happy. So what makes me happy?
Travel makes me happy. I love to travel on trains and boats. I love to drive my truck. I love the feeling of the motion. Making people smile makes me happy. I loved that part of waitressing. And I love that part of dashing.
Making money makes me happy. Money is freedom. Freedom makes me happy. Freedom is DoorDash. DoorDash makes me happy. DoorDash is hope.
Sometimes it's difficult to see where you're going.
On this day—in this snowstorm—I found myself fighting the urge to give up and just pull over to wait it out.
But I knew where I wanted to be. And to get there, I had to find my way through this nightmare of doubting that I could make it happen.
Sometimes I was alone and I had to rely on my own sense of what was right. Sometimes I had experienced guides that I could trust to lead me.
In the end, when it was over and I had reached my destination, I felt a sense of strength in me. I had done it!
And now the next level begins.
