Dashing in Yuma was not paying off at all, and it was taking a toll on our jeep, so we were really needing something like the TikTok Shop for Creator to come along. Of course, it's been around since last year, but as usual, we were a little slow to see it.
Now that we've found it, it might go away.
I joined the program around the middle of March 2024. You only have to be 18 or over and have 5000 followers to qualify for it.
I ordered a free sample of a best selling book and once I received it, I was required to make a video with it, or go live with it for ten minutes.
I made a video. I thought it was an awesome video and it would sell tons of copies of this book and we would be off to the races. I sold two copies! But hey, it was a start, right?
I ordered more free product samples and made more videos, but it really wasn't working too well.
At the end of March, Derick decided to give it a try. He also made videos of the book and he also sold about two copies.
He made videos with a couple of our other samples, but he was not satisfied with how slow and painful this process was.
You need lots of views, and neither of us were getting them. So he decided to go live with two of the samples.
He didn't make a sale on that live, and that was truly discouraging. He'd been up all night trying to sell something and it hadn't happened.
So what did he do? He went to bed, got a little sleep, got up, and tried again.
He spent some time watching other affiliates and he searched out a few really good deals, and he got right back on and this time...
Derick found a deal on a pretty cool looking ski mask. It was .89 and on his live, people would be able to receive free shipping. The commission was quite low, but he was really excited about being able to offer people an amazing item for an amazing price.
Derick actually sold them out of the ski masks, but he wasn't ready to quit, so he moved on to selling a little handheld push poppit game. He made much better commission on the game and sold about 40 of them.
I'm sure the videos can produce excellent results, especially if a product starts to trend, but Derick has been six days on lives (as of this writing) and has absolutely killed it.
I do believe you have to have a certain personality and confidence to sell on the lives. Derick wants me to join him in his success, and I'm trying to think of a way that I could be successful with it, but the truth is that the idea of doing lives is just plain terrifying to me.
I am going to at least give it a try. But I'm not giving up on the videos. I think it's just a matter of becoming more professional with them, or more cute with them, or more unique. Or it could be as simple as getting more views.
We'll learn how to get this done! This is a nice, big taste of what's it's like to have a dream that actually has a chance of becoming reality. It's one of those "too good to be true" things that we are seeing firsthand be "too good" and also be "too true". It works, and for as long as TikTok is around, we are going to do our best to take advantage of it.
The dream for us is to live the life we want, while helping all of our family and friends to also live the lives they want.
It's not much we're asking, as Queen might say. We want it all. And we want it now. And this is how we're doing it.
Derick sent me this app. You earn real cash rent on virtual property. The first thing I thought about, of course, was how I could use it to get more people to know about MeowMeow.
I used her picture as my profile pic and I used byclc_dot_com as my username.
She was last seen on June 27, 2021 at the Sherman Summit
Rest Area on I-80 in Wyoming.
We believe she was picked up by
someone and taken home with them.
She could be anywhere. Please look for her.
I put a lot of love into this video. I miss MeowMeow so much. You can see the tiktok version here: See You Again. Please share it.
Our Little Girl could be living in the house right next door to you. Please keep an eye out for her.
